Rotary is an international organization helping communities across the world. Projects supported by Rotary tend to address the following: promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving others and children, supporting education and growing local economies. We partner with Rotary International to fight Polio with the End Polio Now campaign and Coins for Alzheimers Research Trust or CART.
As this year's theme suggests, we are making a difference abroad and in our local community. Our club has begun an international project in the Grand Bahamas to provide shade to children at a local school. We are working with the local community to bring this project to fruition. We have a strong partnership with the Boy Scouts of America, chartering Boy Scout Troop 951, Cub Scout Pack 951 and Venturing Crew 2564. We also support the community through the distribution of Constitution Booklets to 7th grade students in September and dictionaries to 3rd grade students in October, Snow Fest held in Golden Gate City by giving away Christmas trees and bicycles to youngsters, the Incredible Edible Auction in February, 4th Annual Honor Flag Project in May and the Annual Scout Fishing Derby in June.
As a club, we model the Four Way Test.
The Four Way Test of Rotary of the things we think, say or do:
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Come join our club for breakfast and help us make a difference in our local and global community.
